closing - Attorney fees and document preparation fee???
We received documentation showing our attorney fee, and then there was a $450 fee for document preparation. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm already paying $900 in fees, i would have thought this included document preparation. Is this something I can fight?

Is this the title closer fee? Then no, you can't fight it.
Ask your lawyer what the 450 document preperation fee means. It never hurts to ask.

Re: closing - Attorney fees and document preparation fee???
what county are you in??
It could be a charge to do the deed prep....wihich i would think would have been included in his fee's., but the reason i ask what county you are in is if your property is in the city and you are on the seller's side it could be an ACRIS prep charge, which is something that needs to be done to file the deed.
Otherwise it sounds like he's banging you out for thingsthat should be included in his fee and I would ask him exactly what this charge is
