I don’t know the normal rate but you have all those theories out there that people are saying the numbers are being padded.
So o have heard several times things along the line that people who have been dying have been counted as toward the covid cases no matter what they die for.
Or that even if they die and it wasn’t necessarily proven that has anything to do with covid they are being counted as covid death if they show any sign that they have covid 19. How true is that who knows and honestly who knows we will probably never really know the true numbers.
I don’t know to what extent they are doing this, but this is happening. I know of one absolute case where they did this.
Tbh I’ve never trusted these numbers and the more this goes on the more distrusting I get. I’m not saying a lot of people aren’t dying from Covid but I feel like these numbers are severely skewed.
The CDC does say they can declare COVID as the manner of death, even if they only suspect it to be. I read it myself on their website.
What would be the benefit of that though? Like why do they want to artificial inflate the numbers? And can't a person who died, where Covid is suspected, be tested?
I'll venture to guess if they don't have enough tests for the living then they probably don't have enough for the dead, and any test they could give administer to the dead would probably be better off saved for the living.

So basically what is happening is if someone has symptoms and are presumed to be Covid, but they weren’t tested and then they die, they put it as the presumed cause of death. They aren’t just calling heart attack patients Covid. If you die of cancer, heart attack, but no Covid symptoms, they will still put the real reason in the death certificate. I would imagine the reason they aren’t testing every dead person who may have had is because it would be a waste of resources. 90 % of what is stated on the news anyway is lies, and that’s a fact lol.
Heard this from real people not the news and you can go on the CDC website as they have information how they are writing up death certificates now.
Yes but people are saying that the hospitals are naming all deaths as Covid which is not the case. They are absolutely stating heart attacks and other ailments as cause of death on death certificates
Possibly but haven’t heard many deaths not associated with Covid anymore

Normal death rate
I'm confused- why would they be reporting non-COVID deaths? The COVID death rate is of particular interest because it affects so many aspects of society right now.
You don't normally see a daily death rate for NY anywhere in the news during non-pandemic times.

This is what I was wondering as well. I've never seen the news report number of deaths unless it's tied to a specific tragic event. Unless she means the obituaries maybe?
