North Carolina People. Please help

We are going to visit NC the week of Labor Day.
I was thinking of splitting the time between Charlotte and Raleigh. I heard good things about Cary and Apex.
Is there any fun things to do with my husband and 16 month old?
We are going to check out the towns to see if maybe someday we would like to relocate.
Any must see's?
Any help would be appreciated!

hi! I recently moved to Charlotte. we haven't done too many things around there yet...mainly just driving through looking at different neighborhoods.

We did go uptown one night and it was really fun. Tons of people having a great time.

really good food in Charlotte as well.

If you are a nascar fan, then there is a ton of stuff for you to do. I am trying to embrace my inner nascar, i have a feeling down here it is roll with it or get rolled over.

There's a REALLY nice playground in Apex. I'll think of some other things that you can do!

KIDSTOWNE PLAYGROUND

This exciting and extraordinary, multi-level playground, surrounded by a walking path is located within the Olive Chapel/Kelly Road Park. The project was built entirely with volunteer labor and the generous donations of materials, equipment, and funding made by the Apex business community and the citizenry of Apex. Phase Two of Kelly Road Park which surrounds the playground, includes a ball field, picnic shelter, and tennis courts. The playground and adjoining areas open at 8:00 AM every day.
