They try to get you out of there by 3 nights, you're entitled to 4 nights.
DON'T make them rush you out on the 3rd day.

They ask you if you can go after 3 nights, you should stay 4.

4 nights. They asked if I was ready after 3 because I had an older child. So happy I stayed the 4th night- my DS was jaundice and we found it my last night.

Yes! Insurance pays for 4 nights for a c-section. The hospitals try to get you out in 3 nights but they get paid for the equivalent of 4 nights no matter if you stay that last night. That's how they make extra money.

Thanks everyone, good to know, I have a LO at home so I know I will be anxious to be get home to him but if I feel I need the 4th night will of course stay!

I had the option of 3 nights or 4. I stayed 4 and it made a huge difference because pain-wise, the 4th day was the worst for me, that would have been my going home day if I only stayed 3 nights.

Policy us not by hospital so no matter where you deliver the amount of time you are entitled to is the same. And it's up to you and your dr. You dr can say you need even more time and if it's necessary insurance will pay.

I didn't deliver there but 4 nights is standard with C-sections regardless of which hospital.
With both of my kids though I stayed only 3 nights, I felt okay to go home after that.

i had DD on Tues and left on Sat. They want you out but you can stay for 4. Some people want to leave early. For my first LO i stayed 4 days and it was good because i had trouble with BF and i got a ton of help that day.

Stayed four nights for all three csections I had.....unless you have help when you get home you should stay as long as possible...... that way you get taken care of for at least that extra day in the hospital bc when you go home for the most part no one is taking care of you (like I said unless you have help) you now have to take care of a newborn (and possibly older kids too if the baby has siblings)
