Northport youth soccer or Elwood soccer
Is the Northpor league too intense of a league or mostly just for fun? what to expect with this league would be appreciated. Also any info on Elwood soccer club appreciated. Which of the two is better for more fun and less rigidity.

Re: Northport youth soccer or Elwood soccer
I think Northport is pretty easy going (unless you get an intense coach, which we have had happen.) Most of the folks I know who get serious/competitive about soccer end up leaving Northport and trying out for travel soccer.
I don't know how Elwood works, but our district (Harborfields) just started up a soccer league and they practice twice a week and have to travel for games where as with the Northport league, practices are usually once a week and the games are held at the same field on weekends.

Re: Northport youth soccer or Elwood soccer
I used to pitch in at the NYCSL & they were pretty laid back (particularly with the younger kids). Once 4th grade rolls around, it's more competitive & most A players go to the travel teams.
I'm not familiar with Elwood but from helping with registrations, most of those kids registered are Harborfields & Northport-East Northport kids. Not a lot of kids from Elwood. Given that if you're in Elwood school district, I'd opt for them so your kids can make friends in the district.
