Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
Sorry to be bleak but I'm feeling really low today and not sure why. I can't stop crying over stupid every day things. DD doens't want to eat last day or so and so everything I offer her she throws on the floor. I'm not a Supermom by any means so I can never seem to find time to mop my floor and so it makes me really really mad when she throws EVERYTHING on the floor. It's been on the those weeks where each meal I have to try like 5 different foods including even back to baby food and even still sometimes she just won't eat and i have to end the feeding. I'm just so frustrated. And I wish I could just relax and take it in stride but it's really getting to me. So I finally start balling while the kid's in the highchair and for some reason when I cry she giggles which really just seems to make it worse for me b/c I feel very alone. I know DH is working late tonight so I'm especially concerned about how to get through til he gets home. Thanks for letting me get this out. I desperately need a vent. I think I'll just do bottles for the rest of the day so I don't have to go through it again at dinner. I think we're going out so I can get out of the house for a while. maybe that will help.

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
Oh my gosh - you sound like I have been all week
I am sorry you are going through this.
Ali hasn't wanted any type of food all week. She will take a little bit of what I make her - maybe 2 or 3 mouth fulls and thats it.
They only thing I can get in her is cheese - so I keep giving it to her.
She was like this for a couple of days and now she is back to eating everything - well for the most part.
I have spent many days crying this week, so I know how you feel
I'm here if you want to talk

Thanks! It's especially bad when you don't have anyone to talk to about it. I don't usually post things like this but I really need to get it out.

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
We're going through the same thing with Jackson, who is almost a year old. The only solid (texture) food he'll eat is Cheerios and graham crackers. Last night I gave him some pasta to see if he'd eat it and he threw it on the floor.
He's supposed to graduate up to the next room at daycare when he's 1, but he has to be totally off the bottle, and he's not even close
My advice; just keep trying (and get a dog ). They HAVE to eventually get used to eating food.....

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
I'm so sorry you are feeling this way and I understand you. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and thos days DH works until late are horrible for me.
About the feeding, you know, babies eat when they are hungry. They are not going to starve themselves. I know that is easy for me to say that because when DS dosn't eat I get worried and frustrated, but you just can not force them. It's just a bad day... many for you.

There's no such thing as supermom, and we all know how you feel. There's so much to juggle and the little monkeys know how to throw a wrench in the works Youre not alone, vent away
Going out is a great idea, I always feel refreshed just being outdoors. Get yourself a nice drink, maybe go to a playground for a little fresh air.

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
Sorry you are having such a rough day. But just remember that they will eat when they get hungry. We went though a phase where all Jack would eat was peaches, so I let him each peaches for a week.
I know what you are going through....being a mommy can be very hard and lonely some days. Hang in there...

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
We are also going through the same thing here and I feel like because I am at a loss. Like Marcie and DDune I just give him what he likes until I see he is in the mood to try something new. Luka is still on mostly baby food and I can't force him to eat table food when he is ready he will eat it. On top of the feedings being difficult he isnt sleeping well still at night and just doesnt seem happy at home so we go out.
I would definitly take her for a long walk. It helps me clear my mind and it relaxes DS too.
Hang in their!!

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
first off Kristen We've all been there before. Get out and get a change of scenery that's a good idea. As far as the eating give her bottles, eat something yourself and maybe she will want what Mommy is having as long as it is something she can have. Most of all take a deep breath and know this too shall pass. There have been many times I feel so nervous about losing it with #2 coming, we are strong women and moms who will survive

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
Ryan does this to me all the time- Im not gonna lie.. Im an extreme neat freak so I do sometimes tend to lose my patience with this a little too easy... But when I dont...I just walk away, truthfully he does better when he is ignored... its like he throws the food on the floor to be a clown, therefore if no one is watching he doesn't "perform"
Later on wet swiffer pads become my best friend
I too am having one of those weeks... I just made an apt to go tanning tonight, and an apt for a mani and pedi tomorrow at 4... Sometimes we just need a break!!!
Maybe when DH comes home tonight you could just shut your bedroom door and read a book or watch some tv ALL ALONE...
Please dont feel bad- we all go through days like this

Re: Not a good day as a mommy (sorry it's long)
You are not alone!
Last week DS had a terrible stomach virus and he did not want to eat at all. He looked so sick and weak that I started crying at one point. He was constantly refusing food. He just kept pushing my hand away all the time. Now he's better and he's eating but all of last week he refused to eat. He was even refusing the bottles. Hang in there and know you can always vent here on the boards...

I am glad that you are finding comfort and support on this board. My husband goes to work when I get home from my job so I know how alone you feel. It's not easy. Sometimes you just have to let yourself cry to feel better. Things will get better! Hang in there!!
