Not eating good?
Lulu has always been a great eater. Always finished all her food in about 5 minutes or less. This past weekend she takes at least an hour to finish her breakfast and about 20 minutes to eat her dinner. She will be 1years old next month and i am just wondering if she is not as hungry as she was when she was younger or if there is something wrong? She is acting like herself and going to the bathroom. I am just curious maybe she doesn't need as much food as she use to. Anyone have their dog do this?

Re: Not eating good?
hershey did this too! we got him at 16 weeks old... he turned 1 this past december and during the past 2 months, he started to do this... we had just switched his food from puppy formula to adult formula so we ended up switching his food again & he's fine
DH did mention it to the vet though and she said that sometimes dogs just get into new routines with their eating habits
i would mention it to the vet the next time you go, but as long as she is eating, i wouldnt worry

My 7mnth old pup takes forever to eat her food too. She will guard it from other pets but takes a while to finish. She is spunky as heck and is regualar. She is just not a gobbler...lilke my male mix.. he eats at warp speed!

Re: Not eating good?
I would look in her mouth to see if there is a problem (maybe gum inflammation). She might be in pain and that's why its taking longer to eat.
I know certain times of year (when it's hot) my dogs don't eat as fast... so it could just be the change of weather. But, there have been times when my one dog got a cut on her lower gums and she wouldn't eat because it hurt.

Re: Not eating good?
My pup was always a crazy frenzy like eater. Now not so much. He will be 1 on Saturday. I starting slightly cutting back his food. When they are growing pups they need so much more food so I am starting to think that's what's going on. He's also not pooping quite at much. (2-3 times a day now versus 3-5 times a day previously.)
