Not exactly parent related, more food related...
Are any moms out there just really picky eaters?
I feel like I'm always hungry, but just can't think of what I want to eat... So I wind up eating nothing, or drinking coffee, and then I'm starving...
I like fruit and vegetables, but they don't always fill me up, plus I'm a vegan, to make things even more difficult...
I like small things to snack on - like almonds and dried fruit, but I'm really running out of options. I also like hummos. When I was pregnant, I forced myself to eat because I had to - but now that I don't HAVE to eat, it gets really difficult. Obviously the plus side to this is that I'm losing weight (thats why I was never concerned about losing the weight in general - I'm just impatient that its taking so long to fit back into my clothes....)
So, what do my fellow picky moms do???

I know - I'm the only freak - everyone else complains about eating too much and having to limit themselves!

Yes...picky in the sense that I pick at my toddlers food all the time and have gained about 3 pounds since losing all the weight from Molly.

I'm very picky...and I'm not a vegan.
I spend most of my day wondering what to eat because nothing sounds good and it all has to be just so. DH hates it.

I was picky for years but now I'm not picky. I wish I were more picky, it would help tremendously in my quest for MILF-hood.

I can still check out MILFS - plus, according to another thread, my ring finger is longer than my pointer finger so now I'm all sorts of confused....

Re: Not exactly parent related, more food related...
I am, but not because I'm picky, but because I just have so many limited options that are getting SO boring already. I don't eat meat, and I try to avoid dairy products, so I'm seriously running out of options, and am sooooooooo damn sick of eating the same things over and over again!
For lunch, I seriously ponder for about 45 minutes between the 3 options within a 5 block radius of where I work, and even then, at each of those 3 places, I can only have maybe 1-2 of the items on the menu.
DH and I have this conversation EVERY night. We wish we could just take a pill that gives us all the nutritional requirements and be done with obsessing over what to eat.
Just you wait until you have to kill yourself trying to figure out what to feed baby everyday for lunch and dinner. I swear, it's the bane of my existence!

Re: Not exactly parent related, more food related...
was always picky due to my IBS. breakfast is either egg whites with or without veggies or an atkins morning bar and then I eat a ton of fruit ( strawberries and blueberries) through out the day. and Im a big fresh veggie with dinner but I eat meat too, mostly chicken and fish. It gets boring but as soon as I eat something out of the norm , I get SICK and remind myself why I eat the way I do. when I was pg however the IBS went away and I miss that, it was great!!!!!!

YES!!! I have IBS too, which also limits me - and the funny thing is, it went away when I was PG, only to be replaced by intense heartburn, so either way I was still miserable!
I atribute the IBS to a lot of my pickiness as well....

ETA - a pain in the arse, AND he'll be the "weird" kid. You know, the one who showed up to school with whole grain crackers and some strange vegan concotion while all the other kids are eating hotdogs and cookies

Thats why I'm not raising him vegan - its bad enough he'll be eating healthy stuff and no meat, I don't want him to miss out on pizza and bday cake....
