Not finding out the sex - how are you choosing your bedding?

Is anyone buying two sets of bedding and returning one after the baby is born? I was considering this option. Just have to find a place with a good return policy? What is everyone doing?

I am doing neutral colours in the beginning regardless of the sex. We can always add other sets later if we want them to be pink/blue.Chat Icon

Thank you!! Obviously I went with a Winnie the Pooh theme Chat Icon But regardless, I like neutrals a lot more than your pink and blues... but that's JUST ME! Chat Icon

We bought a neutral set off of babybedding.com. We figure we can accents to the room after the baby comes.

cute idea with the Winnie theme. I prefer neutrals to pink and blue too.

What color are you painting the room?

Ditto. I am personally not a fan of the pinks & blues, but to each their won.

I am painting the room Cafe Latte, with pale butter cream & sage accents. The crib is Antique White (which is kind of yellowish white).

Re: Not finding out the sex - how are you choosing your bedding?

We're going to get a neutral set because we plan to use it for this peanut and (if all goes well) the next one.

We do plan on finding out the sex but this room will be the baby/toddler room for at least a few years so I wanted a neutral and easy to decorate with decor. I'm leaning toward farm animals.

That's the next dilema because I've got a boarder with very light pastels (pooh themed).

Toss up between a buttercream, pale yellow or pale green.

Re: Not finding out the sex - how are you choosing your bedding?

I saw 2 sets I like and I will keep an eye on them. If I see they are going to get discontinued then I will just buy them and then return one. If they are still around then I will order it once the baby is born. I plan on having the baby in my room for the first 3 months like I did with DS. We actually dont plan on doing anything until the baby arrives ( I still do not know what is possessing us to do this).

Neutral bedding. I love the color yellow, so the walls will be yellow and the bedding will go with the color yellow.

Re: Not finding out the sex - how are you choosing your bedding?

This was hard for me....
I bought a pink toile set I had to have because it was marked waaaaaay down. I'm keeping it one is a girl--if theres two girls I will search down a matching one.
If there is one boy--or two--I will find like a green toile-there was a cute one with frogs and save the set if my sis has a girl....
If I have one of each the whole room will be green and pink--very little pink accents-=all green accents except her comforter and the walls will be ecru--striped sage and pink.

so I am thinking..........

something neutral. DH actually told me that if the baby is a girl I could go out and buy something pink and just not use the set we bought. kind of sweet, but i like the theme and plan to stick with it. [he knows that there is a set that is for a girl that i really like]

Re: Not finding out the sex - how are you choosing your bedding?

I am having a hard time - I keep changing my mind about a patchwork one from Pottery Barn that I liked, but I am kinda not loving it anymore - I think I might just wait until the baby is born.

It depends on how much time we have left to do the nursery after bathroom renovations. If we are still in bathroom mode, I might just wait out all together for the baby bedding.
