Not hungry/no poop question
For the past couple of nights Ryan has still been waking at his usual every 2 hours but he barely nurses. Friday night he was up twice between 12AM-5:30AM and only ate a little and then by morning (5:30) he had a fairly dry diaper with no poo (which is usual as he usual has a good amt almost every diaper) Then he ate plenty in the morning (and pooped good twice before 12PM) and throughout the day yesterday but didn't poo from 12PM-6PM and was obviously bothered by it - you could tell he wanted something out. Last night was almost the same. He pooped a couple of times in the evening but then from 1am-now barely ate anything (just 5-minutes of eating if that each time) and a clean diaper this morning and now he's not screaming but he is visibly uncomfortable - grunting and barely down (looks like me in labor ) and not interested in eating - it's like he wants to poop before he can focus on eating. Is he constipated? What can I do for him? Or is he just not needing as much at night?

Re: Not hungry/no poop question
Maybe he's snacking instead of eating a full meal? My DS is the same age and is stretching longer at night. Most nights 3 hours in between meals and the occasional 4 hours
Could you try just soothing him instead of feeding him for one of the feedings? I find DS to be very fussy for about 1/2 hour before he eats, but I don't pick him up until his eyes are open. This is why he is still in the bassinet so I can see him. Otherwise he would just fall asleep while nursing and be up again an hour later.
My DS is also pooping less. It used to be every diaper and now its less often. He doesnt seem to be in any discomfort although he is definitely more gassy this week. The pediatrician actually said to expect that around this time because their digestive system is changing.
