Not looking forward to tomorrow
I can't even tell you why but I really don't want to go for the GD test. I put this off for over a week and DH finally made my appt for me.
Was anyone else like this beforehand?

I am going today. I feel the same way as you. I know the actual test is not a big deal, but I just am so scared that I will find out I have it!
My dr gave me the script 2 weeks ago and told me to go anytime before my next appt...I'm doing it at Quest so I dont need an appt...
I'm forcing myself to go today and just get it over with!!!

I felt the same way before the ultrascreen so I am sure I will be nervous with the GD test.
I am sure you will be OK. Dont stress over and  for good results.

It really wasnt bad at all---about 20 minutes into it though I felt nauseas, but never got sick. GOOD LUCK!!!

Donna - you know me - I worry about everything so this was no exception. Although by the time I got there I had convinced myself that no matter what I would just deal. It'll all work out.

Look at it this way -
It's a sugary drink & a blood test.
If you don't have GD, you're doing just fine.
If you do have GD, you'll be put on the GD diet which will give Doodlebug a healthier few more months in utereo.
It's a win-win situation in my book.

i was nervous too! I just took mine this morning and I hope it went well. I drank the drink, and felt fine...a little dizzy, but after it was over, I treated myself to breakfast!! The way I look at it now that it is over, there is nothing I can do to prevent it, although I dont want to have GD, if I do for some reason, I will have to deal with it,and eat healthier for the next 10 weeks of pregnancy. It will be a pain, but in the end, good for the baby. I wish you luck!!!!

I just got back from mine and it was fine. (yes, this is my morning because of my work hours) I didn't feel any different!!!! I was thirsty and hungry while waiting it out, but that was it!!! Good luck with yours!!!!!!

I'm not due for mine yet but I am terrified because I can't stand having my blood drawn, I sweat and almost pass out every time. I have to lay down, drink water, etc. I heard they have to do it every hour for the 3 hours (3 hour test).
NOBODY can be as weak as me with this so you will do beautifully

I was not afraid of the test itself - but of the results! I was petrified that I would have to give up my sweets and carbs!

Donna - I was a complete worry wart over this test for awhile before hand. I pictured myself having to go back for the three hour test.
I would maybe pick up a bagel or something and keep it in your car so that way you can eat right away after the test. That was the hardest part for me. If I don't eat within the hour after waking up I turn into a lunatic.
I also found out when I got my results that they gave me the same amount of mg. they give for the three hour test so that could be why I really felt bad that day. I hope you can just go home and relax after!!
You will pass with flying colors though so try not to worry too much!

Me, too. To be honest, the orange soda isn't that bad, made me burp a lot...
I was worried more about the time away from work if i failed and needed the 3 hour test! I dont' know why, I've had issues with hypoglycemia all through this pregnancy! i guess it's just normal to worry!
