Not rolling over yet... UPDATE

UPDATE: Wouldn't you know it? The day after I start getting worried, she ROLLS over!! She did it this morning from back to belly! And then she spent some time on her belly without crying. I think she likes it when she does it on her own terms. Chat Icon

Thanks for all your responses. I had read all these posts about DC rolling over much earlier. It was reassuring to see other kids rolling over later.

DD will be 6 months in 3 weeks and she doesn't roll over yet.

I think she can but she doesn't want to. She rolls to her side and nearly all the way and she can hold that position for a long time. She recently started going to her side to sleep too. She just hates being on her belly. We do tummy time but she starts crying after about 5 minutes.

On the other hand, she tries to pull herself to sitting in the carseat or stroller and every day she's in the sitting position a little longer.

I'm still worried about the rolling over. Anyone else have a DC that rolled over later than 5 months 1 week?

Yup!! DONT worry!! I want to say that DS started rolling over at the end of 6 months...

He is now 8 months and he is rolling over, crawling, pulling himself up to a standing position and is able to get into a sitting position from laying down!

Re: Not rolling over yet...

DS didn't roll over until he turned 6 months. He was sitting well on his own and even starting to pull up before 6 months though.
I wouldn't worry, he will do it as soon as he is ready Chat Icon

Re: Not rolling over yet...

My DD didn't roll from belly to back until 6 mos. She just started back to belly at 7.5 mos. Every child is different...they'll do things in their own time. I'm sure everything is fine Chat Icon

My DD started rolling belly to back at 4 months, but has yet to roll back to belly. She tries really hard and also lays on her side, but just can't do it. She's also not sitting much yet. She'll be 6 months on Friday.

I'm sure you DC is fine - every baby is differentChat Icon
