Not sure if I belong here, but I have some questions..,
A little background:
I'm under 25. We're going into our 9th month TTC, 8th cycle.
My cycles since we've been TTC have been between 30 and 40 days. I think I've been ovulating each cycle. We used OPKs for a few months and I always got two positive days. For the past three months we used the CBEFM and I had peaks each month. It seems like every other cycle I'm ovulating on CD 17 or 18, then CD 22ish, the back to CD 17/18, back to CD 22ish, etc.
What do you think our next steps should be?
I'm sure I sound naive, but we didn't think we'd have any problem getting pregnant!
We moved OOS recently, so I just found an ob/gyn here that I have an appointment with in a few weeks.
I'm not sure what I'm asking for here, just maybe some advice or experiences or something
Thanks ladies. I've been lurking over here for a while and I'm so happy to see all of the recent BFPs!

Re: Not sure if I belong here, but I have some questions..,
I would ask them to do CD3 bloodwork. It can't hurt... on one hand they'll give you some answers and on the other they'll tell you nothing is wrong and to keep doing what you're doing Because of your age they may tell you to just keep trying since you haven't been for a year yet... which I think is BS. If you want to get PG, who cares how long you've tried- I think 6 months is more than sufficient reason to check things out, and certainly 9 months. Please keep us posted and let us know if there are any other questions we can help you with! ETA: If you could see an RE instead of an OB/GYN- I 'd highly recommend that. If you have insurance and it covers it, I would skip over the OB/GYN unless you need a referral... JMO.

I agree with everything she said ....You never know, it may be something simple, some CD 3 B/W can be very useful and maybe an SA (semen analysis)Good Luck !!!

Given your age and the fact that you are pretty sure you are ovulating, I think a SA is in order. I recently heard that most fertility problems in young couples are male related.

Be sure to inquire about PCOS. PCOSers tend to have long and inconsistent cycles. Check out this websitewww.soulcysters.com

Re: Not sure if I belong here, but I have some questions..,
Thanks for the advice ladies.
I made an appointment with my ob/gyn for the 23rd of this month. I'll need a referral from her anyway before I can go to an RE.
Can anyone tell me more about PCOS? Could having long-ish cycles be the only symptom?
I saw these as symptoms on the link someone posted and the only one that would apply is the first, although I don't think my AFs are really "infrequent" they just seem to range in length:
Infrequent menstrual period and/or irregular bleeding Infertility because of not ovulating Increased growth of hair on face/body Acne, oily skin, or dandruff Pelvic pain Weight gain or obesity Type 2 diabetes High cholesterol High blood pressure Male-pattern baldness or thinning hair Darkened skin on neck, arms, breasts, or thighs Skin tags Sleep apnea

Your information on PCOS is correct. An internal sonogram can identify PCOS along with blood testing on CD3 and a glucose tolerance test. Don't forget to ask about a SA. Half of IF problems are male related. GL!
