Not the news I wanted- Third Beta
Finally heard back from Dr. B- my beta didn't double.
Tuesday: 36
Thursday: 86
Monday: 288
Just had a nice, big cry about it all. Perhaps this is why I don't have any pregnancy symptoms... I go back Wednesday for another shot at a good beta... he said that not all is lost:
1) He thinks that Thursday's beta wasn't quite accurate and that if you look at Tuesday's, my beta is in fact right at the doubling mark.
2) He said he sees this all of the time and that the numbers will work themselves out (hopefully in the week).
3) He said my progesterone is continuing to rise... he said that usually a chemical pregnancy will have a slowing beta AND a lowering progesterone.
UGH, I'm just so disappointed. Even though we are doubling based on the original beta, we are barely there. These low numbers just concern me. It's so hard to think positively. Please, please pray that the beta figures itself out!!!

Please hang in there.....something very very similar happened to me with the betas and everything turned out fine
Did they happen to send the bloodwork to different labs?

How many days past retrieval are you? My numbers were slow to start as well and my son is now 6 1/2 months.
12 dp retrieval beta was 27. 14 days past retrieval beta was 63. 18 dp retrieval was 385.

Your numbers look just fine! Beta levels aren't supposed to double exactly within 24 hours - in fact, what they really look for is for it to double within 2-3 days, which puts you right on the mark. My betas never ever doubled within 2 days, it was always within about 3 days or so, and I have a healthy little 3 month old sleeping next to me as I type

Keep your chin up....your beta's are around what mine were at when I convceived DD. My 1st beta was 40, 2nd better was just over 80 and I can't remember the 3rd beta. I was worried also about the beta being so low, but all turned out the best for me and I will that it does for you too.

Try to hang in there. I am so far from understanding Beta's and where they should be but I do know this - whacky things happen with pregnancy and a lot of time you can have a healthy pregnancy even after things don't seem right at first.
With my son, I had a lot of bright red spotting at the 6 week mark. I think even my OB was convinced I would miscarry, and lo and behold, I have a healthy 1 year old! The spotting happened more than once and it was bright red heavy spotting. Anyway, hang in there, don't lose hope and try to trust what your doc says about the lowering progesterone.
