my mom hosts christmas every year and i want to help her this year and perhaps make some different appetizers/main courses this year.
what do you usually have on christmas for apps and dinner?
ETA: our usual apps are cheese and crackers, antipasta, stuffed artichokes
dinner is usually lasagna, chicken parm, eggplant parm, meatballs, sausage, bracciole and salad

we have a traditional dominican/cuban christmas...
* pernil (roasted pork shoulder, if not the whole pig) * rice and black beans * yucca (a root vegetable) * macaroni salad * fried plantains * tamales
i can't wait!!!
not sure that helps, but it sure makes my mouth water to think of it

We usually have baked ziti first and then a honey ham, leg of lamb or beef tenderloin, roasted brussel sprouts or asparagus and candied yams or potato of some kind.
For apps we always do a cheese/meats board, spanokopita, veggies and dip. I also love to make a baked clam dip.

I just don't know this year!
I'm so tired from yesterday, that I'm not motivated for Xmas eve. Especially since I got wind that my ILs don't want meat this year (1st time it's been an issue in 7 years)
I'm doing some meat, some non. I'm thinking... Pepperoni Stromboli Tomato-bacon cups Crab dip Spinach dip Anti pasta salad Bruschetta Deviled eggs
Dinner... Salad Soup Ziti Meatballs &/or sausage Maybe Shrimp & scallop marinara
Maybe I can get great ideas here!!!!

We are having Xmas in Australia with the in-laws. Normally they BBQ , but I offered to cook Xmas.
We are doing a prawn cocktail first course and then roast duck for main. Crash hot potatoes on the side and I haven't decided on a vegetable. Probably a fruit crisp for dessert or something store bought.

We split Christmas eve with both his famiky and mine, We have appetizers with my side, cheese and chocolate fondue with DH's father's side (my favorite part!!), and dessert with DH's mom side.
I bring a veggie platter to my side (this year bc my veggie turkey came out great, I'm making a Christmas tree platter), cut up bread and cut up strawberries for DHs dads side, and apple pie for his moms side.
I'm hosting christmas day dinner at our home this year for my family, so Im getting together some ideas on what to make. I may make either a Hawaiian ham, or turkey.
