Not unexpected..... they were allowed in under a policy from Obama, so if Obama approved it, trump has to erase it no matter what....

There are more than 134,000 American transgender veterans and at least 15,000 transgender people actively serving in the military, according to the National Center for Transgender Equality.
We're fighting more fronts than ever before, and he's going to eliminate 15,000+ soldiers with the press of a Twitter button?

I can't believe we're only 6 months in to this $hit show. How will this country make it to 2020???? Every day it's more BS. I can't believe the way he's childishly attacking his own AG every day now too. How on earth does he have this much time to pick fights and argue on Twitter???? All he does is Tweet and golf. This garbage president should be removed from office, he's a joke.

“There will be no modifications to the current policy until the President’s direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidance,” Dunford said in the written message to service chiefs, commanders and senior enlisted leaders, seen by Reuters.
“In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect. As importantly, given the current fight and the challenges we face, we will all remain focused on accomplishing our assigned missions.”
So everything is status quo... for now... but 45 still made it very obvious to everyone that he has no respect for the LGBTQ community (not that most of us are surprised...). Another yuge campaign promise that he broke....

Now what concerns me is that since Trump has said he has no respect for LGBTQ people, that the homophobic people in the military will feel justified in their hate and feel it's ok to assault those that are currently serving. I'm afraid that they'll think nothing will happen to them if they're caught.
I watched the Daily Show last night and Trevor had 2 guests that were highly ranked in the military and are transgender. One thing that really struck me is the idea that many people that served were secretive about being transgender before Obama. They would serve as their birth gender but then be out during their personal time b/c they didn't want to be dishonorably discharged. Since Obama, the majority of them have finally felt comfortable coming out at work or getting gender reassignment, and now they can't just go back into hiding under Trump.

I feel like I have to preface that I do not support Trump's decision here but....
Am I wrong in that the policy states that no one is being asked to leave the military, and that those who are transgender and currently serving may continue to do so?
I'm fairly certain this is what I read, but I'm also seeing several members of the military coming out saying they will not leave without a fight....anyone have any sources of clarification on this?

The biggest problem is that Nobody, including the Joint Chiefs of Staff know what his tweets actually mean. It's not an official policy, so nothing is being acted upon yet, but with this huge uncertainty hanging over everyone's head, people are legitimately upset, concerned, angry, frightened, etc.

The medical costs they are talking about, is after they have served and want the operation to be transgender, the military pays for it because they have the benefits.

Then if that is the concern they should make a clause in the health insurance stating sex change operations are not covered.
Period.
All insurance has clauses like that.
My insurance won't cover a purely cosmetic boob job or nose job ....
So just put a clause in the health insurance and let them serve

The annual cost is much less than the cost that the military spends on Viagra....
