NPR - Update on my Brother (prayers appreciated)
so my brother had the back/spinal surgery on Friday. The surgery was 5.5 hours long and he came out of it well.
The doctor was STUNNED to see how badly one of his discs was degenerated (for his age)- so PLEASE, if you are having back pain....get it looked at.
He has been in HORRIFYING pain from the surgery, but the doctors expect now that that really bad disc is out, he'll be pain free once the surgical pain is done (from cutting into the muscles in his back).
He's on his way home now - we're all really worried for him, as his pain has been on the level of a 30 out of 10 (so every bump in the road will KILL). My parents went to see him in the hospital on Saturday (he's in CT) and they were, to put it honestly, traumatized. He was NOT in a good place pain wise and it was really, really, really bad.
He's much better today, but the pain is still a 10 out of 10, so he could use more prayers.
He hasn't seen his little girl since Friday, so he's dieing to see her, but he's also worried about her being too 'jarring' for his back....
just wanted to share, since many had been asking..
