What about giving singing lessons? Or finding a job in a music dept at a college or school?

What about retail? When I was younger I'd work at the GAP during the Christmas rush (starts about now) to make extra money and the discount is great!

What about giving singing lessons? Or finding a job in a music dept at a college or school? I was going to suggest the same. Maybe even performance lessons. Do you study/practice the Alexander method? I know someone who teaches that not only to music students but other performers & speakers as well (She is in AZ, but still)...
If no one else posted this link it is worth checking out for adjunct teaching positions Link

Maybe look on Craigslist under New york, Long Island and then Education type in music in the search and there are a few jobs listed there for music. I would post a link but my computer skills are limited.

My brother is a musician and makes a really good living by giving private music lessons. When he started, he affiliated himself with a local music school to get clients, the drawback being that he had to pay a cut for every client to the school. Eventually he made a name for himself, expanded and broke off from the school and now has over 80 students that he teaches.
Something to consider - maybe you can first approach some of the local music schools?

Maybe something like a Mommy & Me or Lyrical Kids instructor ? It is very musical and maybe your DC would be able to enjoy it along with you ???

Many B&N stores have music departments...maybe you could check them out. They also offer benefits to employees that work over a certain number of hours.
