NPR: Does anyone know where I can get a recipe to make white chocolate lollipop favors?
Hi,
For my shower we were thinking of making some white chocolate lollipops. Does anyone know where I can get a yummy recipe for making these? I have no idea what I'm supposed to add to the chocolate so we can then put it in molds. I checked out allrecipes.com but it wasn't helpful.
Any recipes or good website that you know about? Or, any vendor recommendations?
TIA!

I'm pretty sure you just melt the chocolate and put it into the molds!
Places like Michaels sell the chocolates and tons of different molds.
ETA:
Candy melts look like this
Then you can buy the squeeze bottles like this:
and whatever molds you choose... and lollipop sticks.

you just melt the candy melts (you can buy flavor oils to add in), put in a clean DRY mold and refrigerate for about 15 mins.
you can NOT get any WATER mixed with the chocolate b/c it will screw it up. i make them all the time.
if you want to do a few colors (i.e. yellow flowers with pink centers) you do the pink centers, or the accents first. refrigerate them. do not unmold. add the second color and refrigerate again.

Maybe Wilton has a website. I know you can get the chocolate and molds both at Michaels and I think AC Moore

you should buy the white chocolate wafers from michaels. making chocolate requires tempering and unless you know that process is quite difficult i think.
and making chocoalte white is probably hard so you're better off using the "vanilla" wafers and melting it down, pour into the mold and voila!

I make Chocolate lollipops all the time. I usually buy the chocolate wafers at a candy store (but you can go to Michaels or Ac Moore also) only because they tend to have more of a selection of molds to choose from.
I buy the mold, the chocolate, the sticks, the bags and the ribbon all in the same place. Most times I melt the chocolate over a double boiler (pan of chocolate goes over a pan of boiling water -- the chocolate pan cannot touch the water below or it doesn't melt right). For my DDs 1st birthday though I melted the chocolate in a pyrex measuring cup in the microwave. I kept doing 20 sec intervals and stirring until the chocolate was melted right.
Pour the chocolate in the mold, put the stick in, and put it in the fridge until it hardens. They are very easy,

i know for some recipes people add butter to chocolate to give it more shine, but i have used those little rounds that you melt plenty of times to make chocolate molds and they came out fine

It's much easier to do it over a double burner (You can just use a glass bowl over boiling water..pot not filled all the way) than a microwave b/c you can keep chocolate melted......especially when making a large quantity. So easy and kinda fun too! Good Luck.
I'm making them for my shower too!
