NPR: Need some medical advice UPDATE

Im posting this here because I feel more comfortable here then any other board.

I have developed about 3 dime sized lumps under my arm, both of them. At first I thought it was razor bumps because they itched but the itch has gotten worst and the lumps are hard and extremely painful. I can not raise my arms high and its painful to move my arms.

UPDATE: Went to see my gyn last night. She said they were sebaceous cyst. They weren't as big or as painful as it was when I first called to make an appointment.
The gyn said they are going away on there own and will not need to be drained (thank god) but that they may resurface again and if they get worst then we can talk about draining.
I have to put a hot compress on them and she reccomends that I shave let often (DH is really happy about that ).
They are almost all gone today so I am praying that they don't come back.

I would call the Gyn since its close to the breast.

Not sure what it could be, but you definitely should get it checked out.

I would say call your PCP first.

I'm sure everything is fine, but better to be safe then sorry!

Are they red and hot too?

My mom has these bumps under her arms, right on her bra line, they were cysts. She had to have them drained and totally removed. They were red, hot, hard, and very tender to the touch.

Def go see your DOC, my mom went to see a dermatogolist after her PCP told her to eat more yogurt to combat it.

I would just go to the GYN. Only because a PCP doesn't typically do a breast exam on you and feel around your armpits for lumps at your checkups.

I would go to your GYN. Are you ovulating? I used to get bumps under my arms painful when I was Ovulating.. I wouldnt even bother with your PCP..

i would go to the dr. it doesnt really matter much if its a gyn or a pcp... it sounds like cysts or boils.. or even possibly infected ingrown hairs. *those are REALLY painful*

I called both to see who could give me an appt the soonest.

My pcp only had next friday.

My gyn gave me monday. So I guess I am going to her. I wish it was sooner.
If it gets any worst that this I am def going to the hospital this weekend.

Can you call you Dr back and ask for tomorrow. Tell them you are in THAT much pain & you will wait.

I had and have this myself.... Hot compress sometimes help but not really.. and when you have your lady cycle they swell with the breast as well.. i wound up going to a vascualrf surgeon and having it removed 2x first time the cyst was the size of a golf ball.. second time it was the size of a tennis ball.. since having it removed it has been better.. i still have a small one but its not as bad and only noticable when my breast swell.... I would go have it checked by someone other than the gyno.. im telling you i felt 100x better since.. good luck
