The mother of the bride paid for it. But we were young at the time.

For my shower my mom paid for mine and my sister helped her (my MOH.)

I planned and the rest of the bridesmaids chipped in.

ETA: I think it would depend on 'how involved' the Mother wanted to be? I mean - when my best friend got married her mother was in a particuarly bad situation and could NOT give any money. We didn't even ask.

For the other weddings I have been in, I have (as a bridesmaid) contributed to the bridal shower each time - except one where the mother insisted on doing everything herself. I suppose it depends on the brides mom and how close she is. I don't know that I would rely on someone else to bring up and toss the party though.

The MOB paid for the shower. I was the only attendant and MOH. I only had to give a gift but the MOB said I "hosted" the shower.
FWIW- my mom paid for my shower too. I had three friends in my BP, no MOH. My three friends only paid for invites (about $30 total) and they each gave me a present.
HTH.

I was a maid of honor at my sister's wedding and she was mine and my mom paid for both our showers.

In my experience, most of the time the parent's of the bride pay for it, but I was in one bridal party where we all chipped in.

My mom paid for my shower because she didn't want my girls to have that expense. The same was true for the other weddings I was in.

I was MOH for my BF. Her mother wanted it at a certain place, she paid for it. I paid for all decorations, table cameras, flowers, invites, other incidentals.

My shower was held at my MIL's home. My MOH paid for decorations, invites, etc. same as above.

i've been in 3 weddings... one as MOH... every time, the bridal party all split the cost of the shower.
one shower was at a restaurant, the other 2 were at peoples homes.... they were all pretty small showers, and my part for each of them was about $100 or so. not too bad. i always just thought it was part of being a BM/MOH...

The bridal party paid half and the mother paid half.

My sister was my MOH in my wedding, her and my mom and my bridesmaids all split the cost of the shower and all helped with the planning.
