nuchal fold test...
was everyone covered for this by insurance? i have empire plan (state) and i'm getting billed 246. dollars.. do you think my doc would have told me that this wasnt covered????

uh-oh, i also have empire (state), and my doctor warned me to call about any of the optional tests.
did you do the 30-190 test? i was wondering if it was covered. I just don't trust the doctor at all about what is covered because they were also directing me to go to Quest for labwork, which isn't covered by Empire.

one company has different plans,
i recently switched from dh empire bcbs where i had a deductible and such, to my company's empire bcbs- and prenatal visits being 0 copay..... all depends on which company you get it through

I would call them. I have empire NYSHIP and it was covered. Also ask your dr... it could be the wrong code they used to bill the insurance co.

i have the NYSHIP too.. i am being billed for the ultrasound part of it... and it WAS covered in my last pregnancy.. 3 years ago..
i looked the code up on the computer it's the right one.. maybe i'll call my insurance company first.. this is so annoying!

I was covered, but when I went they gave me a list of insurances that do not cover it. I can't find the list though. You should call Empire to make sure though.

Kristi - they didn't sit and tell you before you did the test that your insurance may not cover it? They told me and had me sign a form saying that I was told and I agree to pay if insurance won't pay - I'm shocked they just slammed you with that fee!
