Nursing mommies-flu shot
Are you getting yours?
I'm going to my job tomorrow to get mine...I've been reading that it is good to get it if you have children under 6 months and ok if you're nursing...I was wondering if anybody else is getting theirs...

My Dr. refused to give it to me. She showed me the insert with all of the warnings and it said that this year's version was not tested for nursing mothers and not advisable to be given to pregnant women. Dr. said it is the first year she has seen that.

Really, I didn't hear that and I'm pregnant and got the Flu shot last weekend. I know if it was that harmful my dr wouldn't of givin it to me.

I was going to but was told the one I would get had that preservative (with Mercury) in it that "could" be linked to autism.
So I opted not too.

Yeah I hope--lol but its weird cause its not like my dr said ok, now there is one good shot and one where not so sure about....they didn't say anything which makes me think its not 100% true. about the shot there worried about.. Who really knows, theres so much talk about all these flu shots. I feel fine since I got mine.

She gave me the insert to show my pediatrician who wanted me to get it but I think I threw it out. I don't know what type it was. I wouldn't worry too much, your doc will do what is right for you.

Before everyone starts freaking out cause there are a lot of pregnant woman and BF woman on here that already for the Flu shot and are fine, I really feel that this info is not 100% correct if it was there would be more talk about it, if you still want to get the flu shot call your dr and ask them what this good/bad flu shot thing is all about. I'm calling mine tomorrow to make sure.

The hospital gave me the flu shot before being discharged with my DD. That was almost 2 months ago, and Im EBF, everything is good with my dd

Everyone in our house got one including DS. The risk of one of us getting it (we're both in helthcare and DS is in daycare) and the potential bad outcomes outweighed the risk of the shot IMO.
