Nutramigen vs. Gentleese
I was wondering if Nutramigen did not agree with any of your babies. Antonio has been on it since Thanksgiving. He is still very gassy and I was wondering if we should try something else. I have a new ped and we went to him when that baby had already started Nutramigen. His gas at 5 months is still really bad. He is up at night crying and releasing his air
I haveheard several of you mention Gentleese and was wondering if I should talk to the doctor about that. the Nutramigen was started when he had colic and now that it is over and he just has gas maybe it is time to swith.
Any info would be great! TIA
p.s. I also fee like it does not satisfy him and Idon't want to push solids due to gas concerns

Re: Nutramigen vs. Gentleese
We never used Nutramigen, but we started Gentlease, because Christopher had major gas issues. There was a noticeable difference the first week we started it and now it's rare for him to have a gas problem.

Re: Nutramigen vs. Gentleese
I tried Nutramigen w/ Joseph about 3 times and he HATED it and had more issues on it, imo. We now use the gentlease (when we use formula - maybe 3x/wk) and he's fine with it.

Re: Nutramigen vs. Gentleese
3 feedings. I knew because he kept turning his head from the bottle and fussing. Afterwards he seemed very uncomfortable...

Re: Nutramigen vs. Gentleese
Is the Gentleese milk based???? My son is on the Nutramigen and still has horrible screaming fits of gas several times a day - we just finished a 30 screaming fit. He has a milk allergy so that is why they put him on the nutramigen but I'm wondering if the Gentleese isn't a milk based formula I may ask my ped about switching over.
We even have these special drops for his gas along with cammomile tea and its better but still pretty bad. I can't stand seeing my poor little angel like this

Yes the Gentlease is milk based...it's just the milk proteins are broken down so supposedly they are easier to digest.
