NuvaRing Users (TMI)
Does this thing get easier to put in?
I got my first PP AF this morning so I put it in for the first time. I just went to the bathroom to came tampons and it came out. I feel like I need a glove - this is kinda gross.
Does it get easier?

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
this is why I opted to go on the pill lol
i tried it once and my OB kept saying "it's easy" or "you'll get the hang of it" or "you can't put it in wrong" but it would constantly come out. it's gross.. like I'm giving myself an exam everytime I put it in! lol

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
It's too flexible!!! I wish it just came with an applicator.
I am going to assess the situation tonight when I get home and then maybe I will just take it out and make an appt to get Paraguard or Mirena, I am afraid if I go back on the pill I will forget to take it.

I had an appt and even got the meds for the IUD but was afraid of how I'd react to the hormones and that it would need to be removed by the dr. as opposed to me stopping the pill or taking out the ring. :(
I have an alarm on my phone that goes off every morning so I take it then. :)

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
hmm, I never had that problem, it was sooo easy to use for me and loved the fact that I didn;t have to worry about taking a pill (not that I can bc of my heart issues) , BUT I started having terrible mood swings and developed another issue (TMI to post here) so I decided to stop. I did give it at chance for 8 weeks (dr said usually takes 6-8 weeks for your body to get used to it) but my mood swings only got worse so...

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
Wait do u have it in with the tampon in.
I been on it for years I love it. IT does get easier. I do have mood swings.
If u have your period you are not suppose to put tampons in.
If u have any question don't hesitate to ask. I been on it since 2005 went off for 2 year back on now.

Does it get easier? wait, I just reread your OP. So is this your first day of AF? I'm pretty sure you are supposed to do it on or before 5th day of your AF, that's what I did and that's what the website says to do (so at that don't you don't really use tampons any more but light days pads. then you take it out after 28 days or whatever it is and have it out for a week so you get your period and put it back in after an week. Also you can't use it with a tampon I don't think.
from the website: If you haven’t used a hormonal birth control in the past month or have been using only condoms, a diaphragm, or other barrier method of birth control in the past month
Count the first day of your menstrual period as Day 1, and insert your first NuvaRing® into your vagina on or before Day 5 (but no later, even if you have not finished your period). During this first cycle, use an extra method of birth control, such as male condoms or spermicide, for the first 7 days of NuvaRing® use. If you insert NuvaRing® on Day 1, it is not necessary to use an extra method of birth control.

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
The directions (pamphlet I have) say to start using it the first day of AF (since I haven't been on any other BC in over a year) and it says I can use tampons.
I took a new tampon out of the wrapper, took the tampon out and put the ring in there and then re-inserted. Hopefully i got it far enough up there this time!

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
They need to come out with an applicator for it. I lasted 2 cycles on it and was done after that. I felt like I was giving myself internals everytime I put one in....nasty!!

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
Yea it gets easier...but for some reason some ring are stiffer than the other. If it's too stiff I ask Dh to insert it. If I feel it sliding out I just push it back up. I know it sounds gross to those who don't use it but I really really like the nuva ring. I've been on it 4 months. My period flow hasn't changed from what it was and I am still like clockwork.

Re: NuvaRing Users (TMI)
I've been on it for years and it was a little difficult to put in PP my guess is because things aren't back to normal down there (muscles aren't as tight yet). It does get easier. I'm one of the lucky ones that on the ring I barely get my period at all.
