NY Aquarium vs Atlantis...
We took DD to the NY Aquarium last Saturday and she LOVED it - she was bouncing up and down and pointing away etc. She even got a kiss at the seal lion show. Since she liked it so much I was thinking of taking her soon to Atlantis. Has anyone done both? How do they compare? Is one smaller than the other? Pros? Cons?

NY is bigger, better and IMO more bang for your buck. I love the NY Aquarium. DH took me waaay before DS because they have my all time fav animal- sea otters 
My school took a trip to Atlantis and it was realyl small w/o a lot going on.

I have never gone to the NY aquarium, but have been to Atlantis 4 times, and each time I like it more!! The sea lion show is great, they have a couple of touch tanks, and great aquariums. It is also very clean. Also, the gift shop is fantastic!!

Thank you!!! We really loved it and if you say it is bigger we will just make a few more trips to the NY A again instead- we bought a Bronx zoo membership (we had a $20 off coupon) and it includes unlimited access to the aquarium, central park zoo, prospect and queens zoos. For the price if we go to the BZ 2 and the aquarium 2 it basically pays for itself and you get a few few parking passes.
Etd to add - they had the cutest newborn baby walrus who was swimming and cuddling with his mom - DD went crazy for them.

Ive been to both, and I'm truely not impressed with either...
I live closer to Atlantis- so if and when I go back to the aquarium, Ill save my gas $$$ and go there...

I agree. I was so excited about Atlantis because I LOOOOVE NY Aquarium. And it was kind of a let down when we finally got there.

See I'm in western nassau so maybe I will hold off on it until I have plans to go out there some day and maybe also go to the outlets

Atlantis is very small and it's not cheap. I like it though.
So with the price of gas, etc... it's really an expensive trip.
I think getting a membership is more cost effective.
I never went to the NY aquarium.

Me too! I LOVE NY Aquarium but couldn't wait to see Atlantis. I hated it. Thank goodness we were there for a b-day party b/c I would have been upset if I had paid those crazy prices for that. I bought a membership for NY Zoos and NY Aquarium and it's such a great deal. Parking passes, guest passes and we also go the package with the unlimited rides at the Bronx Zoo!

That is exactly what we did too - we had a $20 off coupon - and with the zoo being $25 pp and then $10 for parking the membership was a REALLY great deal! I also like that you can bring a guest for free so I can bring a friend and her baby, or a grandparent etc.
