NY has lowest COVID transmission rate in the US
We went from being the # 1 worst state for COVID, to being the # 1 best state. While I do still believe that there is a lot of work to do, I am optimistic that, while we certainly see upticks, we can avoid a massive second wave that will put us back to where we were in March & April. Way to go, NY!!

Glad to see we've all been paying attention.
But don't forget: Always like the boyfriend
Seriously. that is great news. We've been through a lot and people really stepped up and followed the advice. Hopefully it continues, because I never want to go back to where we were.

Right? Florida isn't letting us in but last I check they are worse than us now. Maybe we shouldn't let them in.

That's amazing, even with all the protesting going on too. Maybe we'll be able to start school normally in Sept.

Did anyone tell the Floridians that? Because my family down there didn’t seem to get the memo. They’re back to their regular scheduled programming.

This is good news. Cuomo did the right thing and New Yorkers listened. Thats why we are in better shape than any other state right now.

Worse than us with the numbers we have now or when we were at our worst? Cause our numbers right now are super low. I’m curious how things will play out in Florida, who knows maybe what happened in Sweden will also happen in Florida.

They haven’t hit their peak yet. They had 1,902 confirmed cases yesterday, which beat their record number from the day before. By comparison we had 822. We had 11,000+ confirmed cases our highest day (April 14th). Texas also hit a record yesterday.
Florida has two million more people population-wise but they are more spread out.

Interesting. When did we have 822?
Hopefully their way for confirming cases (infected/deaths) is more accurate than ours.

822 was yesterday’s number for us.
And based on how vocal Florida’s governor has been about reopening despite the numbers continuing to grow, I would doubt those are accurate. They are probably higher.

In this link, it says that our highest number was 6,376 on April 6th. Am I looking at the right place?

No worries . It also seems that as of June 10th, the number for confirmed cases was 100? I could be wrong though.

Omg I saw those signs on Sunrise Hwy too. "Wash hands with soap" I said to DH, do grown adults have to be told to wash their hands.. with soap no less...by a highway sign? If so, we are in lot more trouble than I thought

And the Northern State, lol! No, no one ever washed their hands with soap!!!! That 's why you couldn't find liquid soap in the stores for like 8 weeks! I typically get my hand soap ant Bath & Body Works and stock up during a sale, so I never needed to get any, but apparently nobody had soap in their house!!!!
