for me i cant do it Mon or Thurs
i CAN Friday, however i'd have to leave early as i have to work at 9.
also, i was thinking a Fri in midtown would be CRAZY

some of the place in midtown aren't too bad if you get there by 5 or 6. i think most people work in midtown

Thurs is my top pick, but since Jes cnnot really do it that day, we could even think of a Saturday or Sunday brunch maybe??? friday is nuts, especially with all the bridge & tunnel late-stayers.

I suggested to have it by Penn Station because the trains and Metro North is there.

i just dont know of any places off hand. but we shall figure it out.
if we do a friday i have to leave early, but thats ok since we're starting early.
figured we'd plan it for like 5pm, but everyone could/would stroll in after they got off work.
i packed up all my city bar/restaurant books, so im kicking myself in the butt for that.
any suggestions for a place?
i'm thinking we shouldnt do anything in times square though

Mon-Thrursday are perfect unless I have a lst minute meeting
Friday I have summer hours and get out 3-330 so i rather not do it then. Plus places are packed bc of happy hour.....
Hey is this July or August?

There are quite a few places by Penn -- Stout is my favorite right now (133 w 33rd) great atmosphere, huge with lots of seating areas, good food too.
I'd be interested in a NYC GTG -- M-Th is better for me since I get out early on Fridays also - I voted for Wednesday since Thurs is not good for Jes.

If I am able to make it-- I would come to a NYC GTG... There are a bunch of places that either have a back room or something and often cater to a party of about 20 to 30... I can definitely recommend a bunch of places in the area. Places right near Penn might be a little too congested.
Also- if we did a Fri in the summer-- the city is dead so that may be a better night in terms of less crowds.
A place that is near Penn-- but also very convenient to Grand Central is Dewey's Flat Iron-- it's just a pub, nothing exciting- but they do have an upstairs and I bet if we called made arrangements and ordered some appt's we could get the upstairs to ourselves. This place is on 26th and 5th and located near the N/R/W and 6 trains.
