NYC- Monday & Tuesday
How is your school running the new pd/ parent engagement time? Will you have to log what you did for parent engagement each week or create your own agenda for pd?

Honestly this past Monday we were told to get our portfolios together and Tuesday we were told to email parents if we could. I would love to hear what other schools are doing.

NYC- Monday & Tuesday
It's still kind of sketchy, but Monday is supposed to be PD/Grade Conferences-Planning and Tuesday is looking like working on IEP's, parent involvement, and also Inquiry.

This past Monday we got together as a grade and put together a packet for back to school night. We will finish working on that this Monday. Our principal had us create an agenda that we had to hand in to her to show what we did. Tuesday, I was told, we will have to keep a running log detailing what we did for the 35 min parent engagement piece. The rest of the time was for inquiry. Just wondering if other schools had to do this paperwork.

We have to do this.
Mondays we follow an agenda and have to hand in minutes.
Tuesdays we have two logs. One we fill in for parent engagement and the other is a running long for the inquiry part.

We found out the hard way the the wording for "our time" (not parent contact time) on Tuesdays was "unless directed by administration" or something to that effect. We were not happy. We feel so misled by this contract because of how confusing and limited the information was just prior to voting. Little things that are really big things are coming out here and there and things vary in interpretation and leniency from school to school, just so frustrating!!
*edited to add we worked on Tuesday on analyzing the itemized test data from last year to determine weaknesses in instruction.

That's what my coworker said, hopefully it's true, though I wish it was only until 6.
What's funny for me is that I teach kindergarten and they all get picked up by a parent. I will probably see all of them by 5, but have to stay until 7.

We don't get the parent contact days because we are considered multi-session.
We are having conferences 430-730. My AP said we weren't allowed to start before 4:30 (as per the city).

I'm really annoyed that we had no details on this contract and feel like all the people who wanted their retirement bonus pushed it through...I was on maternity and was told I technically didn't have a vote which is bs because I didn't come off payroll- I was out 8 weeks...looks like my vote didn't count anyways-sorry to divert from the original post but my point is that no one really knows what this time is about, like so many other contract related issues...
