NYC public school teachers
How long did it take you to get paid your first year? Everyone keeps telling me I won't get paid til at least October.

I got my paycheck within the 1st pay period. You get paid the 1st and 16th of every month. So depending on when the year starts you might not get a paycheck until the middle of Sept.

I think I got paid in October. Not so bad, but other teachers I started with had to get emergency checks.

I got paid the first pay period Sept 16 for the last two days in August plus september 1-15. This was last year. However it took a few months to be put on the proper step (ba plus 60) so the salary was low but I did get a big retroactive check. I have to say that I thankfully never had any problems with payroll. I even applied for MA step and they put me on BA plus 60 which is more money after looking at my transcripts. (i did have 60 over BA just didn't know if all would count)
