nyc teachers: how long did you stay out after having your baby?
I am doing the full 3 months but I don't think many people have been taking as long. just curious.

My last day was Jan 10th (I think) and I came back the Tuesday after Memorial Day. So almost 5 months.

my baby is due the first week of may... hopefully it will come a little later, but in any event, i will use the 33 days in my bank and get paid regularly, and try to go back to work for the last 2 weeks of june -seems pointless for me to take the FEMLA option for just 2 weeks... from what ive heard about getting bumped off payroll and getting put back on, it doesnt seem worth it for the 2 weeks id be going back
that being said, if my baby were due in say, february, i think id probably take the femla option

About 3 months but I was also on bedrest prior to having them.

I took the week before my due date as part of my FMLA, so I was only out for 10 weeks after my DD's birth. I got gypped ou tof Christmas and February breaks. Blah.
