NYC board of ed teachers- when I have my baby what do I need to do to add him to my insurance?

NYC board of ed teachers- when I have my baby what do I need to do to add him to my insurance?
I have GHI, does anyone know what I need to do after I have my baby to add him to my insurance? TIA!

They should have called you already once your OB appts started. They gave me a number to call after the baby's born. I'll find it for you.

they didnt argh haha but thanks! I know the baby is covered under me for the first 30days but i want to make sure I do everything asap bc I know how the city is and I don't want to find out something didn't go through and my child isn't covered

NYC Healthline 1-800-521-9574 call them now and let them know that you are having the baby. Since you are induced they may already have you in the system. BUT check now. I actually don't have to call back bc my Dr's office did this.
As far as adding him to GHI, check with payroll. Since you are going to be out of the loop, I'll go see mine tomorrow and FM you anything she says and can mail you any forms you may need.

MIne were added pretty quick. If you have GHI you can keep checking the status on their website. It will show the baby's name once they are added. Don't forget to add them to the welfare fund as well.
