NYS inspection costs?
I was under the impression that an inspection now cost 10 dollars (for my car, which is a 2005 civic). The place I went to charged $37.00!! When I asked why, the b!tch cashier told me that it cost 37 bucks because that is what the state requires me to pay. When I pointed out the sign hanging in the shop that stated otherwise, she said it was for cars that were 2007 or newer.
Is this true?

Yes. I think it is safety only for the first year, then emissions after that. I can ask DH when he wakes up (he is a NYS Inspection Certified mechanic).

first 2 years
safety inspection - $10
after 2 years, it becomes state inspection - $37
