I was a member of NYSC in Garden City. I have heard Oceanside is nice. While it was nice, I just canceled my membership. It was $73 a month and goes up every year. Just too much money.

i've been a member of NYSC, but I've also looked at Sky. Parts of Sky (at least the last time I was there, which was over a year ago) were kind of run down and they were pretty much the same price as NYSC.
Both places will give you trial memberships...why not do that first?
On a completely separate note, I go to Equinox and LOVE it. It's pricey, but worth every penny.

Yeah that was what I was thinking...I used to go to NYSC in Garden City and I stopped because I didn't like it

Yep, I'm a member of the one in Syosset and I'm looking for a cheaper gym since I only use the machines.

You should look into Gold's Gym in Syosset. I used to go there when I lived in Syosset and it was much cheaper than NYSC!

I belong to NYSC Long Beach. My friend lives in Long Beach and goes to the one in Oceanside because she likes it better - so apparently it is a nice place.

Is that the one off of Robbins Lane? I belonged to that one years ago. Maybe I should look into it.

Yes - that's the one! It is very ummmm, "meathead", but once you can get past that, it's great!
Especially if you are only using the machines, you shouldn't pay for NYSC!
ETA: Gold's did add some classes just as I stopped going I think they had the basics - Yoga, Spinning, etc. It was nice if you wanted to switch it up a little and attend a class. My gym now is like that (I moved upstate and now go to World Gym).
