Oasis of the Seas...
RCCL Oasis of the Seas
It's available starting today for booking and the first sailing is Dec 2009. It looks amazing!
I just wish they did some different islands, I feel like they already have so many cruises that go to Jamaica, St. Thomas, Bahamas, etc.

Re: Oasis of the Seas...
Oasis does look like a great ship. We were just on Radiance of the Seas in Alaska and they spoke about Oasis a few times and showed us some pictures. They were beautiful! The ship can hold 6000 passengers so I think that is why it is going to the Caribbean because that is one of the most popular destinations. JMO

Re: Oasis of the Seas...
I think b.c it is larger it might be more restricted in the islands it can visit b.c a lot of the smaller island can't let the bigger ships dock. I can only imagine what tendering with 6000 passengers would be like - I hope they will be very well organized. It might take a few months or weeks to get that really working right. I would think even regular disembarkation could be a bit chaotic - and I actually like the bigger ships - but sometimes they can get a little crazy.

Re: Oasis of the Seas...
lol i called to check out a sky loft -- well, it was the crown loft suite or something -- the two level one w/ the bed up on the second level and it was $4,800 per person. not as much as i thought it would be honestly and they are already almost alllll sold out of those for all the booking dates they have so far!!! and booking just opened up YESTERDAY!
i'll talk to hubby - maybe this will be our big trip for 2010... although, i was eyeing costa rica instead but i really like this idea too. oyyyy.

Re: Oasis of the Seas...
We booked the Central Park View (with the window not balcony) and the price was not bad for the four of us. We still have to get airfare but that can be done at a later date and I will be able to research and get a great deal then.

Re: Oasis of the Seas...
Lillykat, you're probably right about the cruise being so big and the smaller islands probably can't accommodate it.

That's crazy. There is so much to do on the cruise that you're never in the room anyway except to change and sleep (well us anyway). We always book inside rooms, except our last cruise we got a balcony room.

I agree to a point-lol!! We got an inside room this last time but there was 4 of us in a 145 sq. ft. room and it was TOO small even though we were not in it all the time. There was just no room to move around. This time the room is 199 sq. ft so that will be much better.

Hmmm I have mixed feelings- I rarely spend time in my room - but some days it is nice to come back a bit early before dinner take a relaxing shower after a day on a catamaran or beach, and relax. So we like a balcony - and do spend time in it (breakfast on the balcony and drinks later in the day or evening). I don't know if I could do an inside too dark and too small- even oceanview rooms are a bit hard since they are not much bigger - but like to look outside at the water and the weather. I love that balcony - but I don't think you need a suite or a balcony to have a good time - nice perks but if you are going budget they are not necessary.
