oatmeal cereal question?
so my ds has started oatmeal, he also has not had a bowel movement for the last 4 days, he is also on bm with little formula. my dr. suggested to use the glycerine liquid suppositories as he was soooooooo cranky all day. he finally went. Any one else dc has similar experience when starting cereals.

Re: oatmeal cereal question?
Yes.....most of the time he goes each day. Here & there he goes every 2 days. Near the beginning though he was on day 3 of no pooping. Called ped & they suggested the suppository. I read the side effects & was personally not comfortable with them causing burning &irritation to him..
I gave him 2 ounces of pear juice & that helped almost within 2 hours! I felt that this would be better then causing him discomfort.
So now if his bowel movements are a little firm or he is on day 2 I give him 2 oz pear juice & 2 oz water &it makes him go!

you add this to the bottle??? what about prune juice thats what my pedi suggested also, to mix 1.5 oz with his bottle. I was so worried about the side effect of the burning sensation, however was pretty desperate as he seemed uncomfortable, however i don't think it hurt him at all and he went right away. Sorry if i am getting too detailed

Re: oatmeal cereal question?
Not at all!! Glad to know it wasn't as bad as I imagined!! Maybe I should have some for in a pinch anyhow. Poor DS is definately having firmer bowel movements lately but today was the formest. Not HARD per say, but not easy to get out!
And I did the pear juice & water in a bottle yes. (just the 4ozs a while after his mornig bottle)
