Since I have aetna and they will not pay for me to deliver in stony brook I'm in search for a new obgyn who delivers at St Charles. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Re: OBGYN recommendations associated with St Charles
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Petraco with Suffolk OB/GYN. They have offices in Smithtown, Port Jefferson, Wading River, and Patchogue. He was absolutely wonderful and did an awesome job with my C-section. St. Charles was AMAZING too!! LOVED it!! It's a smaller hospital but soooooooo clean, so quiet, and the staff and food are awesome. I plan on delivering #2 there as well!!

I thought Mather doesn't have a maternity ward anymore?

I'm just going off what it says on the HIP site...if that's the case then they only deliver at Stonybrook...sorry.
Let me know if yiou want their phone # just to confirm whether or not Mather is still an option.

I used him with my 1st and I LOVED his office. I only met him twice, but the rest of the staff was awesome. If my insurance hadn't changed then I would have gone to him this time around as well.

I make sure I schedule my appt's with him and only meet the NP if he is on vacation or something (which has only been once)..the office staff is super sweet too...

Re: OBGYN recommendations associated with St Charles
Bumping for new suggestions. I am not a huge fan of suffolk obgyn when they called me with the wrong results from a pap smear. So other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

He actually assisted on my c-section with Dr Ninia. Dr Ninia had to go away for a conference the day I gave birth and Dr Erhart came to see me every day I was in the hospital. He was very nice.

I delivered in St. Charles and saw Dr. Michael Arato. His office is located in Stony Brook, and I liked him very much.

Starting in a couple of weeks, I will be going to Dr. Michael Arato. My current doctor no longer does obstetrics so he's only seeing me through the 1st tri. I'll let you know how I like Arato!

Mather doesn't have a maternity ward. They are affiliated with St. Charles up the street and of course St. Charles has the maternity ward.
