obtaining a previous years W-2 form
I need to get a copy of my 2008 W-2 form. Any ideas on how to proceed

I would ask the company that issued it for a duplicate.

Yup, assuming that company is still in business, they should have a copy in their files. If that fails, you can always call the IRS and ask for a transcript of what was reported on your behalf for that year. It will include any and all W-2's, 1099's, 1098's, etc
