"OCD" in dogs?
My dog has obsessive behaviors that seemed to have stopped for a while, but now are back. He had a toy that he was completely obsessed with - would look for it 1st thing in the morning and keep it with him all day. I got rid of it and after a day or 2, he was fine. For a while, he had this thing where he would constantly walk in a circle around a small ottoman - to the point where he would be panting and wouldn't stop unless I made him. He eventually stopped doing that and hadn't done it for almost a year, until this week when he started back doing it. The ottoman is in a room he can't go into unless I am there, but now he'll run to the door of the room during the day to see if he can get in, and as soon as I open the door, he runs from wherever he is and starts walking around the ottoman - and won't stop unless I make him. Any thoughts on why he has this behavior and how to make him stop?

I have heard of dogs having OCD. I would definitely take him to your vet. Increasing his daily exercise may help to keep his mind busy also.

Re: "OCD" in dogs?
He does get a lot of exercise plus I just bought him an obstacle course to challenge him some more. Haven't had a chance to set it up yet but maybe that will help. I will also talk to the vet about it.
