October Mommy - I had my baby! (3 weeks early) Introducing...
Baby Joshua!!!
I delivered our baby boy on Saturday, October 3rd at 6:14 PM. He was 3 weeks early but considered full term at 37 weeks. He weighed 6 lbs 4 ozs and was 19 inches.
The way it happened was just crazy! I wasn't due until October 25th but on Wed. September 30th my OB became concerned because my blood pressure was starting creep up and they worried about preeclampsia. That Friday, Oct. 2nd I felt a little strange at work and asked a nurse to take my BP in the afternoon. It was 156/108!! I called my OB's office and she immediately got on the phone and asked me to call my husband and head straight for L & D because the baby probably had to be delivered. I was shocked and so not ready. Hadn't even purchased much less packed what I needed for the hospital. The delivery was tough. I was induced but after 20 hours of labor ultimately had a c-section. The epidural was horrendous, I had a bad reaction to it and and my BP dropped to about 50/30. I didn't think I'd make it out of there, I kept asking my DH not to let me fall asleep, I was scared I wouldn't wake up.
C-section itself was fine and I think my OB Dr. King was amazing. Recovery has been rough b/c my BP continues to be high. I was readmitted to the Mother/Baby floor on Friday night after my OB checked my BP and sent me to the ER. Finally allowed to go home on Sunday. BP is still a mess but at least I'm not away from my DH and DS.
I delivered at Mercy and have no complaints. I had an excellent experience there. The nurses were very caring, helpful, and on top of things both in L&D and in MOther/Baby.
Thanks to everyone on this board who posted really great questions and great answers and who gave me great answers whenever I posted about anything. Heading over to Parenting but will still be here to hopefully help others the way I was helped  Image Attachment(s):

Oh my goodness you poor thing, that must have been a scary time for you and your dh - I hope you feel 100% better very soon!
And Joshua is SOOO cute, what a little angel!
