Odd ball question. If you wear your wedding band continually..

Just curious...

I have a small scar issue type thing near my wedding band. I never (like EVER) take my ring off. I remove it only for meatloaf and to lotion my hands (which I admit isn’t often). I wear it to sleep, shower, daily, camping, working on the car, in the garden, while cleaning. It never comes off.

I lost weight over the past couple of years. So it’s loosened up a bit on my finger. But I’ve always had an indention where it sits. I have a thin ring which is light weight. It’s a simple gold band with 9 very small diamonds spaced out around it. So not an eternity right will diamonds all the way around but evenly distanced small diamonds.

So I noticed a rough spot on my finger. I took the ring off and noticed line of raised rough skin. So it’s sort of like a scar.

Just wondering anyone else have this?

Oh, been wearing the ring nonstop for 11yrs. I showed the skin to my hubby who said “I don’t’ have that” well darling you don’t wear yours like I wear mine.
Chat Icon He takes his off as soon as he walks in the door.

Mine is tight so I have an indentation and certain times I get what you are describing the rough raised skin. BUt I remember noticing as a child and still now-- thaty my dad has that on his ring finger as well-- he also never takes his ring off-- like ever.

Chances are it is a callus.

Yes! I have like dry skin under my rings all of a sudden as does my sister in law. We both have platinum bands. The only thing I could think of is we both use is Bath and Body Works foaming hand wash and it might get stuck under the rings and be drying

Yes, DH and I both have calluses.

DH has had his since we got married. He never takes his ring off (sleeps, showers, works, etc., with it on) and works with his hands.

My callus didn't start forming until about 6 months ago (so after about 6½ years in). I take my ring off to sleep, shower, etc., and am constantly putting lotion on my hands, but it still happened.

It could be an allergy. I developed an allergy to my platinum earring after wearing non-stop for 10 years! It's very annoying.

My ring is yellow gold.
Well its good to know I'm not alone.

It doesn't bother me exactly, it was just 'new' LOL

I take a bit of crazy pride that my hand/finger will always bear evidence of my status.

I'm not exactly an overly sentimental kinda of woman. I am very tom boyish still and find a lot of the romantic girly stuff to be childish and dumb. I even sometimes feel like I totally don't understand the female stuff half the time. I don't wear "Mrs." shirts or post "Best husband ever" on facebook. I never got into the monogram thingie. I'm *ME* and married or not, I am and shall always be me and independent.

But I'm fiercely loyal. That I get. So the physical evidence that I'm taken and proud of it.. it's almost a badge of honor. I chose this life and this man. Things change, sure, but this is part of me and who I am. Just as much as the skin on the back of my hand. ;) LOL

Feeling the rough patch (still small) is just new, that's all. But like everything else, it will grow on me

It could be an allergy - my husband had the same thing happen. He put a coating of clear nail polish on the inside of the ring and whenever he washes his hands he makes sure to dry really well. The doctor also advised him to take it off to sleep at night because it will allow his skin to breathe for a few hours. Callus went away after he started doing that.
