Odd question about identical twins
This may be a weird question but I was wondering if you have a system for telling your identical twins apart. I grew up with twins boys and one was always in one color and the other in another. I have also heard of nail polish on one twin's toe to distinguish from another. I was just curious if you ever get them mixed up. Thanks! And congrats to you all! I would LOVE to have twins one day!

Re: Odd question about identical twins
My SIL never got them mixed up. She even swore that they weren't identical and wouldn't believe it w/o a blood test, even though they were monochorionic...
My brother on the other hand, messed up all the time
In pictures, we're all confused unless one is next to the other.
I've heard of the toenail thing.

Re: Odd question about identical twins
We are "lucky" some would say, that one is smaller then the other by 3 pounds, so we can tell.
Also the smaller one had surgery to remove a piece of his colon at 11 weeks old so he has a big scar across his belly

Re: Odd question about identical twins
I *think* my MIL did the nailpolish thing, although I'll have to check with her. Other than that, DH was always in red and his brother was always in blue.

From what I hear, a mom always know who is who.

Re: Odd question about identical twins
In Italy, the #13 is good luck, (just like the horns). So my mom had #13 gold charms on us, my charm was slightly bigger since Im the older twin. My dad gets us mixed up to this day, even though we're SO not idenitcal anymore
In some pics, I cant even tell who's who, since we were almost always dressed alike. But if you really stare, we have different shaped faces, and our eyes are a little different. Hard to explain, but you can TELL who youre looking at when you get to know a twin, if that makes sense...
ETA: She had the charms on our clothing, usually on the back of a onesy. I know many people do this to this day, just for good luck on babies, whatever the culture or tradition.
