off topic.... paint your own pottery?
I"m trying to find things to do with my oldest daughter to help keep her busy.. I can't chase after her in the park right now, and I didn't put her in camp because we're between locations right now.. I just remembered something about a paint your own pottery class? Any one know were one of these places are?
or any other suggested day activities? Even if only for a couple of hours a day, i can't take her sitting around watching television, i feel like a horrible fat lazy mother..
*and she's starting to resent her soon to be born baby sister as the reason why her summer sucks... i don't want that at all..*

I know there are a few places in the city if you do an internet search.......not sure about Long Island. Maybe check Craigslist under classes? May give you some other ideas of things to do with her as well. Don't places like Michael's also have regular craft classes for kids? I haven't gone on it yet, but maybe the parenting board would have some suggestions as well.

oh thanks!! i'll repost on the parenting board... i think i'm gonna try the kiddie cooking school.. she took classes there last summer and loved it.. it's only 3 days for the week but it's enough to give her reason to get out of her pj's each day..
my poor baby... she's trying to be patient....

Re: off topic.... paint your own pottery?
That is exactly what I did with DD Friday, for exactly the same reasons! Painting pottery is an excellent activity! I feel like a horrid mom, and my little girl stays in way too much. We were meant to go to museums, outings, etc. My preggo body just isn't cooperating.
Anyway, I love this place: http://www.creativecornerpottery.com . The two ladies who run it are awesome, and my daughter and I have a blast when we are there.
My guilt about my daughter's indoor, cr*ppy summer is tremendous, btw.
Good luck!
