Offical Where to go on Summer Vaction Thread
DH and I are trying to decide where we want to go but we have no idea where would be a good family vacation.
So everyone share with me where you are going this summer with your DC, I need ideas!!

we are taking the kids to a resort in Mazatlin Mexico, also to great wolf lodge, and we will probably visit Hershey too!!

We are planning on going to Villas, NJ..its an equal distance between Wildwood and CapeMay so you can go to either place. House rentals are a lot more affordable there and it's the bay so the water is "friendlier" for the kids..

Not summer but in 20 days we are going on a Cruise. And then we may hit up Great Wolf Lodge. I made the reservation but might cancel.

We go to Shelter Island for a few days every summer. We get a cottage at a really mellow, family friendly hotel. We just go on walks, swim in the water and relax.

We are going to Sesame Place one night.
Not sure if we'll go somewhere else.
maybe we'll go to Cape May for a w/e.

Mom and Dad's house in Florida. Not the place you want to go in summer, but it's a somewhat inexpensive trip, free babysitting, and a great chance for them to spend time with DS.

We don't really take vacations. Just don't have the bandwith in our budget. But we plan on doing a lot of local weekend trips with them including the zoo, the NY Aquarium, some touristy NYC things and probably a couple of weekends upstate.
I really want to go to Beaches - but it will have to wait a bit.

Myrtle Beach for a few days, camping for a few...
Leo is going camping in Montana, i have no interest to camp in Grizzy country(last time I went camping was summer camp, 14 years ago)
I am trying to work out something with my parents while he is gone.

We'll be going to my brother's summer place in RI a few weekends.
We'll be visiting friends in Texas
We'll probably go to Ocean City, MD for a long weekend...very kid-friendly, great beaches & boardwalk.

If my friends can agree on which house to rent and how much to spend, and we can get it together before there is nothing left to rent, we will spend a week on Fire Island. DH and I are also considering taking DS to Montauk. We stayed at a place we liked last summer. Now I have to remember the name of it.

We always do a week in Ocean City MD with BIL and his family. We're also thinking of doing a week in Punta Cana at the very beginning of the summer.

We're going to FL for 10 days next week so that's our "real" vacation.
We have 3-day trips planned -
May: NH
June: Camping upstate (God help me)
July: Strasburg, PA (Dutch Wonderland)
August: Sesame Place or Mystic...or somewhere else - still figuring that one out.

we will be going Upstate in August for a week to introduce DD to her grandparents (DH's side) , Aunt's, Uncle's, cousins.... etc. most of DH's immediate family lives there so we are excited to introduce the newest family member to them!!!

We just got back from our "big" vacation.
In the summer we spend a lot of time in Greenport.
We also do weekend day trips.

We are doing Disney July 4th week, I know it will be hot BUT it is our 5 year Anniversary on the 4th and I can't wait to get away, we have had other weddings every year since..

We're renting a house in Outer Banks, NC with 3 other families in August. We also plan to do the Sesame Place thing sometime this summer.
