Re: *****Official May 2014 Mommies Thread*****
wingsofsong, how did your appointment go? I had my 36 week appointment last night as well. I am 2 cm dilated but I know that this doesn't mean much. Baby is doing well at around 6 lbs. Only problem is my blood pressure still It was super high last night and they wanted to send me to the hosp to get monitored, but ended up giving me another day to rest up and relax, and I'm suppose to come back this evening to recheck the pressure. If it's the same, they will give me the 24 hour urine collection and do some bloodwork and we'll take it from there. I know baby is almost full term, but I really want her to cook a bit longer, so fingers crossed!!!

Sorry you're still having BP issues. Can't believe you're 2cm already! But you're right, it doesn't mean a whole lot, especially with a second baby. your BP issues work themselves out and Baby keeps cooking. But we are so close! And good to know your baby is healthy! My appt. went really well. As you saw in my other post, turned back to head down and I am SOO thrilled about it!! Doc said the head is low- when he did the internal (which was after he did a sono and found out Baby had turned), he said "Oh yea, that's definitely a head!" so the head is engaged in my pelvis (which hopefully means it will not be moving again!!), and ready for action. Nothing going on yet as far as dilation or effacement, which is what I was expecting. I was late with my first 2 (4 days and 9 days, respectively), so I'm already anticipating being late with this one too. But you never know! Can not believe how close we are all the sudden it seems! you get good news at your appt. tonight- keep us posted!

Re: *****Official May 2014 Mommies Thread*****
So I did the 24 hour urine collection and they drew some blood. Waiting to hear the results next week, but blood pressure did go down to a safer level so I'm just continuing to work from home and trying to relax as much as I can, although that's not easy with so little time left and soooooo much to do! Monday I will be 37 weeks so I guess baby girl can then make an appearance whenever she wants :) I can't believe I'm actually almost full term! It was such a long and stressful road with this high risk pregnancy! Can't wait to meet this little girl

At my 36 week appt. baby was head down but measuring a bit small so they sent me for a growth sono. Luckily baby sounded and looked great but my fluid was borderline low. I had to rest, hydrate for the last 3 days and go back tomorrow to be checked. I have been having on and off contractions ever since. I love being pregnant and am sad that part will be over but also very excited to meet my baby girl. Any1 else sooooo nervous that they could go into labor at any moment? I feel on edge all day LOL

YES!!!!! I've been meaning to post on here and a brief birth story on the board but was quite busy over the past week... My baby girl was born at 37.5 weeks after a successful induction. At my 37 week appointment my high risk saw the baby had symptoms of brain sparing, which is a common condition towards the end of the pregnancy where the baby is starting to shot down other organs to provide more oxygenation to the brain. Once that happens baby has about 7 days to be born or the condition worsens. So they decided that it's time to get the baby out to be on the safe side. So the next day I went in, got my cervidil on and started the waiting game. It's a good thing I went in when I did since I already developed mild PreE. It wasn't my blood pressure alone anymore all the bloodwork came back irregular and there was some protein in the urine. Long story short, cervidil did it's job, got the pitocin and the epidural and went from 3 cm to fully dilated in a matter of a few hours. So fast that the epi didn't really have time to take and I was pushing without any :( but she came so quick that the pain didn't last long. I started pushing at around 3:10pm, and at 3:19 she was out! I had to go on magnesium though which was worse than the labor IMO but I don't want to scare anyone. It's over and done with and hopefully none of you will need to experience it. So without further ado I'm happy to introduce our tiny little miracle Ellinore (Ellie) Rose, born 4/17 weighing 5lbs10oz and 19" long (pics are in my album). I can't get enough of her and her brother is in love with her as well!
Hope all your little ones come soon and you all have easy peasy deliveries! It was awesome sharing the last 9 months with y'all!

I had my baby a little early! 38w3d. My water broke at 11 pm Monday, after an internal that afternoon. It was the mother of all internals! I was hoping to go until my due date of May 3 because we are in the middle of a move but Emma Sophia had her own ideas. I was in labor for 23.5 hours (probably more like 26 because I was feeling really crappy in target earlier that evening!) I pushed for 1.5 hours (they don't call it labor for nothing!) and tore (2nd degree) and had an episiotomy (not fun!) the epidural kept wearing off and I felt the stitches and the contractions. It was scary but I'm so glad she is here. If I didn't get her out within that hour they were going to talk c section because of the risk of infection.
Now life is a blur of feelings and sleepless nights and worry, but I love her so much.

Two May babies!!! So exciting! Congrats to you both
I'm only 35.5 weeks. I'm hoping to go at least until 39 (I have my cousin's wedding at 38 weeks and I really don't want to miss it- my DS is the ringbearer!).

I am 39 weeks tomorrow and its my last day of work. I am regretting working so late this time around. I am much more tired and dealing with an almost 3 year old is also draining. I left work early today to come home and take a nap.
I am ready for DS to come. Been having lots of braxton hicks and overall discomfort but nothing timable and no increasing in intensity. Really hoping labor starts sooner rather than later or at least that i dont go too far past my due date. I like knowing the end is hopefully in site
Hope everyone has a smooth time these next few weeks.

Well, mommas, our month is here!!! CONGRATS to all the May mommies who had their little ones already! Hope you're all doing well! I saw the doctor on Tuesday this week and was 1cm dilated. I know it doesn't mean much, but I'm happy things are starting to move! Today, I woke up feeling very crampy and have been that way all day. Nothing timeable yet though. Can't believe I'm #3 on the expecting list and only have 4 days to go till my due date!!! How is everyone else doing??

i forgot about the list - i am #12! ive been having cramping on and off the past few days at 4am woke to an extremely painful contraction...i looked at the clock and thought ok better pay attention i think i need to time them...but that was it. just one. back to sleep i went and nothing since. im grateful bc i dont want to have this baby just yet - im 37+ weeks so i know it can be any moment, im just not mentally prepared for 2 under 2 yet. i told myself this LO is coming out late like its sister everyone is telling me its definitely a boy this time...i love being cant wait to find out! i have to go shopping this weekend bc i packed my hospital bag and realized i dont have a coming home outfit for the LO oopsss bad mommymoment
