Ugh. So other than my anxiety about leaving DD with my MIL, I was completely fine and HAPPY to be returning to work. I miss my friends. I miss the kids. I miss teaching. I just am not cut out to be home all the time.
Cut to just now...watched a movie with DH and came upstairs to lay in bed BAM, it hits me.
I'm sad. I'm crying. I am going to miss her SO much.
I KNOW it gets easier and I only have 7 weeks or so of school left before summer. I KNOW it will be better for me. I KNOW that this will all work out. I just thought I would be able to do this without the tears and the sadness that I always read about on here.
I think I just need some hugs.

We are moms. We can only be so strong for so long. We are allowed times to cry! My first night back to work was a nightmare. I kept on crying. And since I work with only guys, it made it that much worse. Your reaction is normal!

Jen I know it's easier said then done but before you know it summer will be here and you will be back with her before you know it! Don't worry it will all work out and be fine

The first day I nearly passed out from an asthma attack because I was crying so hard when I dropped him off. Three weeks later and I am fine. Wait until you see how great she does!!!

I'm hoping that I will be alright when the time comes that I go back to work. I won't even be going back to my old job since I was laid off. I'll be going to an entirely new place with new people. I'm really not looking forward to that day, whenever it comes. My mom watches Shaylie a lot, so hopefully I won't have that anxiety.

I had the SAME experience!!! I was HAPPY to be going back to work as well. I am also not cut out to be a stay at home mom. Although I loved the time with DS, I missed being working and being around other people all day. I found maternity leave to be very isolating. With that being said...I cried my eyes out a few days before I went back to work and then I was a basket case on the day I had to go back to work. My opinion is that, in the end, we are all still moms and we love being with our children. There is no shame in crying! These feelings get easier over time and its much hard on you than it will be for her.

felt the SAME EXACT way...everything you wrote is right. you know everything will be ok but you will miss her and that is what hurts the most! once you get a routine going and you see her at the end of the day you will feel so much better! keep knowing that it will all be ok and good luck!! summer IS almost here!

I'm a teacher and I begrudgingly went back to work on March 10th. Let me tell you, the time has FLOWN!!!
Just make sure you don't bring too much home with you...what grade do you teach?

I was in the same position as you last year. I went back and was so sad. The few weeks that I was back for flew and then it was summer. You'll be fine!

I hear ya 
Due to this wonderful economy....I have to head back june 1st. Initially, I could have stayed out till Sept. because i had so many sick days banked.....but I was placed on bed rest in Dec and burned most of them. I feel guilty leaving her already. But i keep reminding myself that summer vaca is not too far away
