OK - Diana is obsessing about strollers, and I'm still obessing about sippy cups!!
I've been posting about what kind (brand and model ) sippy cup your DC likes the best. I started with the Take and Toss with Thomas because they were the only ones he would drink out if - couldn't get anything out of the valved cups. Now, finally, he will drink out of the Playtex First Sipter, which I hesitate getting him hooked on because the age range is 4 - 12 months, and Thomas is now 13 months. He is hit or miss with the Gerber Sip and Smile - sometimes he'll drink it down, others he refuses it. Now my DH tells me he thinks I'm going backwards with him by pushing the valved cups. He said he learned how to drink out of the Take and Toss with no valve which are more like a real cup and now I'm confusing him with the valved cups where he has to suck like a bottle.
HELP!
Any advice???
Thanks!

Not too much help here, but I did buy some of the Playtex stage 3 cups (They are 12+ mos) I also bought a 2pk of the Elmo insulated cups (as Troy LOVES Elmo). The Elmo cups STINK! Troy would not drink from it. I thought it was b/c when he is tired he wont drink milk from a sippy cup, only a bottle (yet ANOTHER battle). I took the cup and tried to drink from it.....it was SO hard to get anything out of it. I can't even imagine how he'd be able to get anything out of it.
Tryo does well with the Take N Toss, but as you have posted before, I am concerned w/ him chewing the top and causing leaks.
Have you tried any cups with straws? Troy does really good with a regular straw in a cup (w/ one of us holding the cup of course), and he has a few sippy cups w/ straws and he does good. I just feel it defeats the learning to drink from a cup. Sometimes he tried to tip up the straw cup and gets nothing.

my DD loves the take-and-toss too. i think DC like the take-and-toss b/c the liquid comes out very easily vs. the valved cups you need to suck harder. Have you ever tried one? I have and I almost ruptured my ear drums. While it is annoying that the take-and-toss cups aren't leak proof when turned upside down, sideways, etc.,- I figure this won't go on forever and I'll just deal since DD is happy.

Thanks everyone!
Jill - no I haven't tried any of the straw cups yet because I've offered Thomas the straw from a cup of water and he just puts it in his mouth and smiles at me. I'll have to keep trying.
