OK - I will start off with thanking DH...
... so I don't sound like a beyotch...
Thank you DH for taking care of Cailen yesterday. You really were helpful - I mean that. Because of you I was able to go to my kickboxing class in the morning, and chill out for a bit...
you fed him all day, which was great. Made him the bottles. Which was very helpful. I actually was able to eat a whole meal undisturbed yesterday, whcih was a wonderful treat.
However, not to nitpick, but when you see the bottom of the can in his powdered formula, that means we are running low.
So, as helpful as you were all day, I had no idea that we were out of formula at 3 in the morning.
As helpful as you were (and you really were) it's hard to truly appreciate it when I have to run out at 3 in the morning in my flannel red cow pajama pants, inside out t-shirt, and pink crocs trolling the neighborhood for an all night grocery store/drug store. Of which I have discovered there are surprisingly few.
While I am thanking people's husbands, I want to thank the nice man in the suit at 7-11 who was getting his coffee and helped the poor bra-less disheveled mom figure out where there may be an all night supermarket at 4 in the morning.... Turns out it was the Pathmark in Commack on Jericho turnpike.
I love you DH, I really do. And you were very helpful, but its amazing how quickly grattitude gets erased between the hours of 3:00-4:30AM.

Well, he was the one who had to watch Cailen while I ran out...
When you are exhausted, you just become so numb that you cant even react anymore. You just go on automatic.
I looked at the can, and said, "oh, of course this is happening. Why would this be any other way?"

Sorry to laugh, but you did have me cracking up!
You see, there are twot hings there that would never happen in my house:
A) We'd never run out of formula because I know how much we have because DH never makes a bottle or feeds him.
B) I would not have had to leave DS with him at 3am because I bet you a million dollars he would not have gotten up and I would have dragged a screaming kid with me into the store in my cow pajamas! (Or in my case, my pink panther pjs).

That stinks -- we ALWAYS have 1 "emergency" can -- hiding in the basement. When I open one can and there is still a whole one left, I put it on my shopping list so there is always 1 unopened can in the house -- or 2.
Hey you can get great bargains on ebay.

You just had me laughing so hard . MEN....what can you say. Dh left DD in a dirty diaper all day and told me he forgot that was one of the things you have to do when taking care of a baby.
