OK - I'm still on here - I have a bath question - HELP!

Cailen pretty much outgrew his hammock. He loves lounging while I bathe him, but its ridiculous - he's hardly in the water.

I took out the hammock and had him sit on this little seat thing in his baby tub, but he was still hardly in the water... I tried putting him the other side where there is more water, but it really freaked me out....

How do you ladies bathe your 5 mt olds?

If you use a bath seat, can you please recommend yours?

Open to any suggestions - bath time is my favorite time with him and I dont want anything to change... but he's getting so big.... Chat Icon

TIA ladies

Why don't you just put more water in the tub? I had my DS in the infant tub until he was close to 10 months and he was able to sit up at that point. At 5 months my DS was about 17.5lbs and we never had a water issue.

We have an oversized sink in the kitchen (FIL designed it that way for the future babiesChat Icon ) We are still using the teddy bear sponge on the bottom but in another four inches or so will run out of room.

I think you have to stick with the infant tub for now.Chat Icon

I LOVE my bath. Jack was out of the hammock after the first day home because he wasn't in the water at all.

This is the one we use. I def. recommend it!

ETA: I believe that Jack is bigger then Cailen also - he is over 16lbs -- we have no issues with this tub at all.

And I just recently started using it without the hammock for Jayden. He sits well in it and the water just comes up to his waist. I use it over the kitchen sink and usually have the water running lightly. Our faucet has a spray setting that's like a shower and Jayden loves to play with the water.

I love, love, love the Primo Eurobath. My daughter has used it from when she outgrew the kitchen sink until now, when she is nearly 2.5. You can lie the baby on one side for now, and when the baby can sit up you switch to the other side. It works great at keeping her in a safe position and saves me from having to scrub the whole tub.

I use this one and my ds is 6mos 18lbs. It's great, it fold up and the bottom only sitcks down a little so you can put it in your sink and let the sides lay on the top. I loved this one but I'm probably only going to get another month out of it.

This is the one we have. DS used it for maybe 2 years, and DD is 15 months, and still using it. We often have DS in the real tub, and DD in this tub at the same time.

Can I ask how you position them just in the kitchen sink? I feel like it's wayyy too big for DS and he would be flopping all over the place.

Does this tub fit in the sink? I need a new tub since she is getting just too big for her mesh thing.

It doesn't fit in the sink.... We have a standard double sink and it just sits on it. not the best pic but you get the idea

I still use the tub in the sink (I have the aquarium tub) but I took out the hammock probably 1 1/2 months ago. He outgrew the hammock. Now he sits on the seat portion and I fill the tub up to the top and give him a bubble bath Chat Icon He loves it! Do you fill the tub up all the way?

We use the ring seat - she LOVES it because she is sitting up and not sliding down. I forget when we started to use it. I can't search for the pic now - I'll add it later.

Liza - I use this tub with the Comfy Bear bath sponge in it so she is sitting on the spong and her head rests on the sponge as well.

Re: OK - I'm still on here - I have a bath question - HELP!

At 5 months, I had the same issue. So I just filled up the regular tub with very little water. He would lay on his belly... I put my hand underneath on his chest. He would swim around...then I would turn him over, he had room to kick.

I would lean him over my arm, wash his hair...

now, at 8 months I still just throw him in the tub.

Please be so careful with this seat( I am sure you are!) I just read on consumer reports how much they would like these products to not be made at all. There was even a report of a drowing with the parent watching the whole time where the child just got trapped. Chat Icon
