OK - I've Done "Pregnant..." Now I need to know....
... I did the whole preggo thing - worked it like a diva...
did the cute belly pics, painted the big belly, wore the cute maternity clothes, ran around having everyone tell me how much I'm glowing and how great I look...
Besides the M/S and occasional exhaustion, and some crazy cravings, I never complained. I hardly changed my lifestyle. I kept my work schedule the same even with the M/S - working 3 jobs 6 days (and nights) a week until my 8th month...
And now.... I'm feeling it.
I'm done I am so uncomfortable...
Everytime I stand up I feel a pain in my bladder as if something is going "whump" against it... I feel like I'm walking like a spaz - not even that cute preggo waddle - more like a walk where my knees are going in as if I'm afraid I'm going to pee my pants at any moment (and I feel that all the time)
But heres the thing - at 39 weeks - I have not had any of the other "signs"
- I did not lose my mucus plug - at least I don't think I did- is it possible I wont?
- My belly still looks "high" - you guys saw my belly pics from yesterday - does it look "dropped" to you? I am noticing a drop, but not that drop I see with women who are good to go...
- Unless I hear differently at my weekly internal tomorrow, my cervix has still remain closed. I know that means very little, but still, its a little disheartening
What do you ladies think? Is there an end in sight this week, or, am I going to go this full week, plus a week past my due date and wait to be induced?
I just can NOT imagine living this way for the next 2 weeks!!!!

AWWWWW...I feel so bad for you!! Well let me be the first to say..you defenitely did work the pregnancy thing...so applaude yourself for that!!! Now as for this baby that doesn't want to come out...I can only imagine how you feel..but just think..when the time comes which I will pray will be soon..you will forget about the way you felt. However...that being said..I think if you are THAT uncomfortable..they should really start looking into inducing...

With DS I had my appointment 2 days before I went into labor, and I was only a fingertip dilated and not effaced at all. IMO the belly drop doesn't mean anything, it can happen at the last minute, and you don't have to lose your mucous plug, although that is one of the first signs I had that I was about to have him. Just relax, and get rest because you'll need it once the baby comes.

Yeah - I just don't want to do anything rash just because I'm uncomfortable, you know? If it means the baby is just not ready, I'll walk around with my knees wedged together for the next 2 weeks!
I guess I'll wait to see what the dr. has to say tomorrow... she did say if my cervix looks good enough for induction this week or next, she will totally go for it - so we shall see... I really wanted to keep this as natural as possible...

I know it's hard, but try to keep patient. The baby will eventually come out!

Re: keeping knees wedged together... Well..I'll be praying for you... BTW: I LOVED the painting of your belly..where did you find that??? I'd like my husband to do that to mine..and he can draw..so maybe I'll let him freelance on my belly..haha!! I have to start taking more pictures.....I've been so bad.

Re: OK - I've Done "Pregnant..." Now I need to know....
First of all...
Second, I lost my mucus plug DURING labor...not days/weeks or hours BEFORE.
Third, no one checked my cervix UNTIL the hospital. So I had no indication of being dilated/closed or anything. I think I lived easier NOT knowing to be honest.
Fourth, I never noticed my belly actually dropping either...though my measurements shrank A LOT from one visit to the next. In hindsight, it was a sign, but I didn't know that.
Fifth, I know you are uncomfortable...been there before and it's creeping up AGAIN. It will end soon...just realize the longest you will wait is 2 weeks...and that's nothing compared to what you've been through already!
Aw....I can't wait!!! This is all so exciting!!!!

OK - that sounds promising... I think
The problem is, I'm a control freak, and nothing puts a control freak in her place like not knowing when she will be giving birth to a baby....
Another problem is, I really, really, really enjoy being comfortable and not in pain, but thats a whole other ball of yarn...

I know its easier for me to say, now that I gave birth, but try not to wish it away..... The baby will come as soon as its ready, so unless the dr says otherwise, try to be as comfortable as possible and your little one will arrive soon........

Re: OK - I've Done "Pregnant..." Now I need to know....
I totally sympathize with you. I'm just about 38 weeks, nothing going on, baby still really high and I'm totally uncomfortable and I'm constantly aware of my cervix/bladder. And I feel bad complaining because, like you, I had a wonderful pregnancy and I didn't even have ms. You don't have to lose your mucous plug or drop to go into labor...both can happen during labor. Hang in there, we're almost there!
